FEATURED WINES

2008 Abbazia di Novacella Kerner Alto Adige  OUR PRICE $24.99
Abbazia di Novacella is the northernmost winery in Italy, lying right at the foot of the Dolomites. A hybrid out of Riesling and Trollinger, Kerner yields a delicately perfumed but medium-bodied wine of great finesse with elegant fruit flavors and stony, mineral notes.
89 Points Robert Parker
“The Kerner may be the most complete and harmonious of the lot.”

2008 Terredora Falanghina Campania  OUR PRICE $16.99
Pale yellow color. Offers a rich and intense aroma of fruit with hints of apple, pineapple, quince and pear. It is fresh and clean in the mouth with excellent acidity, good structure and a floral finish. A wine for the whole meal equally at home with hors d’oeuvres, soups, fish dishes, cold dishes, buffalo mozzarella and fresh cheeses.

2008 Produttori del Barbaresco Nebbiolo Piemonte  OUR PRICE $22.99
93 Points Robert Parker
“The 2008 Langhe Nebbiolo shows gorgeous depth and purity in a core of dark fruit, spices and minerals. The finish is long and polished, especially for a wine at this level. This fresh, vinous Nebbiolo offers terrific balance and is a great choice for readers who want to begin an exploration into Nebbiolo – one of the world’s noble grapes – without breaking the bank. Once again, the Produttori have turned out what may very well be the very finest value in Nebbiolo”

2008 Castelvero Barbera Piemonte  OUR PRICE $8.99
Barbera is one of the most popular grapes in Piedmont. Ruby garnet color, aromas of bright plummy fruit with savory overtones, light taste with attractive up-front forest fruit flavors, leading to a savory finish. Due to its high acidity, it is the perfect food wine. Ideal for boiled red meats, or grilled light meats as well as Parmigiano Reggiano, Swiss and Pecorino cheeses.

2004 Castello di Meleto Chianti Classico Riserva Toscana  OUR PRICE $20.99
92 Points Robert Parker
“The 2004 Chianti Classico Riserva Vigna Casi is an earthy, powerful wine imbued with dark cherries, tar, licorice and toasted oak. The wine needs another year or two in bottle to settle down, but this is a gorgeous, layered wine of considerable potential, with pretty notes of sweetness that linger on the long finish. The Vigna Casi is 85% Sangiovese, 5% Colorino and 10% Merlot aged in medium-sized barrels.”

2006 Cantele Salice Salentino Puglia  OUR PRICE $11.99
Salice Salentino is made from Negroamaro, for the most part, along with Malvasia Nera. Full bodied with a deep ruby-red color and a complex bouquet. The flavor of mature fruit is accented by harmonious notes of vanilla from the French and American oak. Perfect for pasta and meat sauce, as well as a goat stew and any red meat dish.
