2006 ABADIA RETUERTA "RIVOLA" SARDON DE DUERO  REG PRICE $14.99  SALE $11.99  (nine bottles on hand)

This is a lipsmacking red from a leading producer on the outskirts of Spain's Ribera del Duero region. It arises from a careful selection of Tempranillo and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes from the best plots on our estate. Aging for twelve months in casks highlights its unique character. Its personality makes it a pleasant, warm, complex wine, perfect for tasting and drinking any time, especially with tapas or lamb.

2005 MAS DE L'ABUNDANCIA "FLUMINIS" MONTSANT  REG PRICE $19.99  SALE $15.99  (two bottles on hand)
Fluminis, is a round, complex blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Garnacha Negra and Cariñena from the hillside town of Mas Roig. This vineyard’s low-production vines produce grapes of concentrated varietal character, and the resulting wine offers delicious aromas of black currants, fresh strawberries and dark chocolate. Fluminis means of the river in Latin, and recalls the owner’s last name, del Rio.

2003 FRANCESC SANCHEZ-BAS "MONTGARNATX" PRIORAT  REG PRICE $45.00  SALE $35.99  (two bottles on hand)
This blend of 75% Garnacha and 25% Carignan is one of the most memorable expressions of the leading grape of Priorat and its granitic “llicorella” soil.  The wine shows deep color and has a spicy nose of cinnamon and licorice. Rich, ripe plums burst on the palate and carry through on the long finish, which also contributes a distinct mineral note.

2005 EMBRUIX DE VALL LLACH PRIORAT  REG PRICE $39.99  SALE $31.99  (two bottles on hand)
Blend of five grapes led by Garnacha.
93 Points and a "Highly Recommended" from Wine Spectator: "Rich yet focused, this powerful red from Spain delivers plum, black cherry, anise, tobacco and sage flavors over muscular tannins. It's thick on the palate, yet dissolves to licorice, spice and flowers on the finish. Best from 2010 through 2020. 1,900 cases made."
93 Points from Wine & Spirits Magazine: "Despite the fact that this wine comes from the youngest vines of Vall Llach, its intense, mineral character feels deep and round. The fruit is red and refreshing, the flavors filled with juicy ripe strawberry and violet aromas all the way through a long finish."

2004 MERUM PRIORATI "ARDILES" PRIORAT  REG PRICE $49.99  SALE $39.99  (three bottles on hand)
"The 2004 Ardiles is composed of 45% Garnacha, 34% Carinena, 18% Syrah, and 3% Cabernet Sauvignon. The Merum Priorati estate owns 6 parcels of old vines and 7 parcels of younger vines and this bottling is a blend of old and young vines which was aged for 12 months in a mixture of new and used French oak. Dark ruby-colored, it exhibits a fragrant nose of mineral, spice box, kirsch, raspberry, and spring flower garden. Structured on the palate with excellent depth and concentration, it has layers of spicy fruit and terrific integration of oak, tannin, and acid. The wine has a long, pure finish. Although it can be drunk now, this hedonistically styled wine should evolve for 3-5 years and drink well through 2022." - 93 Points, The Wine Advocate

2005 COMENGE RIBERA DEL DUERO RED WINE  REG PRICE $35.99  SALE $28.79  (one bottle on hand)
"The 2005 Comenge, sourced from Comenge's estate vines, is 100% Tempranillo aged in barrel for 13 months. Dark ruby-colored, it has an enticing nose of dried herbs, coffee, black cherry, blackberry, and licorice. Smooth on the palate, it has a slightly roasted character along with plenty of ripe, savory fruit. Surprisingly forward, it will evolve for 1-2 years but can be enjoyed now through 2017." -  90 Points, The Wine Advocate

2004 AALTO RIBERA DEL DUERO RED WINE  REG PRICE $52.99  SALE $42.39  (one bottle on hand)
100% Tempranillo
"The 2004 Aalto has a far different personality than the 2003. More deeply colored, it is also significantly more expressive aromatically. It reveals pain grille, pencil lead, wild blueberry, black raspberry, and blackberry liqueur notes. Opulent on the palate, it has layer upon layer of ripe fruit, and superb length but is still an infant developmentally. Give this top-flight effort 6-8 years to further evolve and drink it through 2032." - 94 Points, Wine Advocate
