FEATURED WINES
2009 Crios de Susana Balbo Torrontes, Argentina $11.99
Always one of our favorite wines, combining the chariteristics of several varietals into one wonderful wine. This is our benchmark for Torrontes! Fruity, floral and yet still quite dry, this wine has to be tasted to be believed. Best enjoyed in its youth either by itself, or as a wonderful partner with smoked meats, mild to medium-strong cheeses, and seafood (especially crab!).
2009 Crios de Susana Balbo Rose of Malbec, Argentina $9.99
100% Malbec. A beautiful, deep, vibrant rosé color. Has a surprising amount of body for a rosé wine, and beautiful aromas of fresh, ripe wild strawberries. On the palate, the flavors of strawberries and young cherries come rushing in, accompanied by some spice notes and a clean, dry finish. This is the perfect chicken wine and a charming companion to mildly spicy Asian cuisine. Keep one in the fridge at all times and you’ll always have a delicious wine to enjoy with light snacks and cheeses. Best consumed in its youth.
2008 Don Miguel Gascon Malbec Reserva, Mendoza, Argentina $21.99
100% Malbec. Aged a minimum of one year in oak barrels to impart just the right amount of complexity, this wine has distinctive dark fruit flavors and aromas. This is a full-bodied, intensely flavorful wine offering layers of ripe plum, blackberry and dark cherry, accented by hints of chocolate and black pepper. Round tannins and final notes of brown spice and oak combine to create a firm, persistent finish.
2007 Bodega Dante Robino Bonarda, Mendoza, Argentina $13.99
100% Bonarda. This grape is originally from France, where it is called Corbeau. It produced well round and elegant wines. It can be paired with grilled fish, roasted meats sausages, hard-rind cheeses and even chocolate cake.
2008 William Fevre Chile, La Mission Pinot Noir Reserva, Valle del Maipo Chile $11.99
100% Pinot Noir.Made from grapes grown 1000 meters above sea level in the Maipo Valley of Argentina. From William Fevre Chile, this wine is ruby red in color, with a cherry and strawberries on the nose. It has soft tannins and good acidity. An excellent food wine that is elegant and refined.
2007 Vina von Siebenthal Carmenere Reserva, Aconcagua Valley, Chile $18.99
85% Carmenere, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon. This is an intense, complex wine, with aromas of black berries and black currant that intermingle with notes to cedar, tobacco, coffee and toasted hazelnuts. Full bodied and balanced with soft tannins and a long and elegant finish.
“A sexy, exotic nose of mineral, underbrush, black cherry, and blueberry pie. Rich, layered, yet elegant on the palate, this impeccably balanced, hedonistic Carmenere must be tasted to be believed. If I were awarding an Oscar for finest performance by a winery, Von Siebenthal would be my winner. All of their wines are amazing values with the under $20 wines being nothing short of mind-boggling.” 90 POINTS – WINE ADVOCATE
